Agriculture Department

Agriculture is the backbone of Mangu’s economy. The department is responsible for supporting farmers with improved seedlings, fertilizers, modern techniques, and access to markets. It also promotes livestock development, extension services, and partnerships that enhance food security and rural prosperity across the LGA.

Education Department

The Education Department oversees the management and improvement of primary and secondary schools within Mangu LGA. It focuses on ensuring access to quality education, teacher training, provision of learning materials, and collaboration with the Plateau State Ministry of Education to raise literacy levels.

Health Department

The Health Department is tasked with maintaining and improving public health across Mangu. It supervises primary healthcare centers, maternal and child health programs, immunization campaigns, and disease prevention initiatives. The department works closely with state and federal agencies to ensure healthy communities.

Works & Infrastructure

This department is responsible for the construction, maintenance, and rehabilitation of roads, public buildings, and other essential facilities. It ensures proper planning and quality control in all infrastructural projects within the LGA to support mobility, commerce, and sustainable development.

Finance & Budget

The Finance & Budget Department manages the council’s financial resources in line with transparency and accountability standards. It prepares annual budgets, monitors expenditure, handles revenue disbursement, and supports strategic planning to ensure financial stability for ongoing development projects.

Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH)

The WASH Department ensures access to clean water, proper sanitation, and hygiene education across communities. It implements borehole projects, waste management initiatives, and sanitation campaigns to promote a healthy and safe environment for residents of Mangu.

Social Services Department

This department coordinates programs that enhance social welfare and community development. It supports vulnerable groups, women, youth, and persons with disabilities through empowerment initiatives, counseling, and skills training. The department also promotes civic engagement and community participation.

Revenue Department

The Revenue Department is responsible for generating and managing the internal revenue of Mangu Local Government. It ensures fair collection of taxes, levies, and fees while maintaining accountability and efficiency. Revenue collected supports local projects, services, and community development initiatives.
